View Full Version : Pigeon Sock - A short film about a pigeon and a sock
ComLag 09-22-2006, 04:59 PM Hi there!
This is my 2nd year animation that I made whily studying at Ravensbourne College.
Download Pigeon Sock (http://www.jamesbending.co.uk/downloads/pigeonsock_720x576_forweb.mov)

Its my own work apart from the rigging and the chicken model.
I'd be interested in hearing CGTalks opinion!
Jim
P.S I have to admit the story is a bit peculiar - I made the classic 'my first film' mistake of being a little over ambitous.

Briliant little film mate! Very inviting mood and a lovely color scheme. Animation was very nice as well! Character designs were also cute and the story was a charmer too.
My only comment was that a little motion blur would have really added to it, since there are a lot of shots where there's quite a bit of motion full frame.
Overall, a very memorable little piece! 5 stars from me :)

Thanks for your comments so far, they are very kind!
Ivanisavich, its great to hear feedback from you as I had been really impressed with the look and feel of your Nike robots ad, it was in my 'research' folder for quite along time as a source of inspiration!

This was really great, man! Very cute and entertaining story. How long did you have to make it (including pre-pro/concept)?

Thanks again for the comments everyone!
Gehof - A rough animatic was made in the 2nd term, so we had about 11/12 weeks to nail down our idea while having to do other college projects. We had the third term for production.

Who did the song?
Hello, thanks for the comments. The song is by Patience and Prudence (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Patience_and_Prudence) and the song title is "Gonna Get Along without Ya Now"

That's a very nice piece of work. If I have any minor crits it would be that the style of the chickens doesn't quite match the other characters (proportionately a bit too different), but the colur scheme, story, and animation are all charming.
Knew I recognised those singers from somewhere...
