View Full Version : Question about removing background
bonus2003 09-22-2006, 02:10 PM Hello everyone this is my first trip to this part of the forum. This is my situation, i have a customer that needs to remove a background of an image, more quickly and effectively than using a laso tool or using a paint brush to mask off the image. He needs to be able to take this image and put it into a cnc machine to create an etch into metal of the same image. The problem with using the two techniques above is the image has many (as in hundreds) of small areas that need to be masked off. The image was shot on a blue screen, is there anyway to tell photoshop to just remove the blue? thanks for the help.

Try Select > colour range

I woudl suggest color range as mentioned above or if you are willing to throw down a few dollars for a plugin, Vertus Fluid Mask is quite a handy tool for this once you get the hang of it.

Color Range would do the trick, if you have acces to after effect, it has some nice filters for masking out images shot on a bleu screen. ( Forgot the names )
