View Full Version : Render managers + Reelsmart MotioBlur = not working?
ssalo 09-22-2006, 06:44 AM Hello!
I just asked this from their support but I thought to ask it here aswell. I'm currently evaluating what render manager to choose and both Deadline and Royal Render seems like winners for my needs (XSI and AE)
BUT they are both having problems with AE comps with Reelsmart's Motion Blur on them. They render just fine the first given frames or full job but refuses to move on to next task or job when first one is finished. After the mblur effect is removed fro the comp it renders just fine. Anybody else having these problems? What render managers you are using?

Ps. I'm using MBlur Pro with AE 7 on Windows XP Pro sp2
Pps. It renders just fine with AE's native Watch Folder system

I doubt you can blame RSMB for it. I suppose the render manager modify the render options in such a way that the chunks are too short and RSMB has not enough info (it seems they will send only 4 frame long compositions to the render queue). Try to adjust that first. Plain AErender works differently, so you naturally have that problem.

Thanks Mylenium, I'll look into that.

No, making frame range per job/task longer didn't help.

Problem solved (hopefully, havent test yet....)
First answer from ReelSmart Tech Support
--------------------------------------------
Unfortunately our plugin returns an error on the last frame. AE's mechanism obviously ignores that error and continues rendering. I didn't know that AE kept rendering, but that's my guess based on what you report. And I'm guessing that the other render managers don't ignore this, or at least can't continue once they see the error.
The trick for now is to try this:
Make the layer that you are applying RSMB to 1 frame longer. Put this into
another comp that is the correct duration (1 frame shorter than the sequence
your applying RSMB to). This way the last frame that's rendered in the comp
is not the last frame of the layer you are applying the plugin to.
We plan to have a fix sometime in the next week or two.

As per

Download 3.2.3 which addresses that problem
