View Full Version : unwrap UVW problem
Nicochel 09-22-2006, 12:37 AM my problem is this, i specifically chose the polygon i want to texture..

then when i apply the map.... heres what happen..

why is that?? i moved the others on the outside to avoid them having the same texture as what ive chosen. its obvioius in the UVW editor isnt it or im just so wrong.. help me please...

Select the polygons that have the bad texture (in 3d space) on them and see where they are in the unwrap dialogue. if they are on the section where the texture is, move them out.
remember on the unwrap dialogue, the texture will repeat outside of the guidlines, so keep an eye on it

the texture isnt just in the square but also outside of the sqaure..keep that in mind..so that means you cant just put those ploys there on the left...they will be textured too ;-)
thats what i think..
so you must place thm into the square into the right place of texture...

Correct UV maps are tileable, in other words, the 0-1 space is repeated even if you don see it on the viewport. In order to view it in the viewport you have to open the options menu where you can specify how many times you wish to see the tiling UV map. That applies to the viewport only the UV map will still repeat even if you specify a number.
