derwolpertinger 01-31-2003, 02:47 AM here we go, this is my second plant that i finished for a project at school. i finally got enough money to buy myself a wacom, so this is my first painting with it, and i already just love and won't miss it! :D
done in photoshop 7.
so what do you think? any suggestions, comments or critiques would be greatly appreciated! :)

btw., the original image is about 2500x1300 pixels, it will be printed out in A3.

Stick to 2D man your awesome at it, not to say your not good at 3D but man I thought it was a 3D render at first as well, I was wondering why you were posting thi here ;)

Wow, excellent rendering :eek: :buttrock:
I just have a few problems with it:
1. Gravity. Those oranges are quite heavy and should be hanging down from the twigs, instead of going up.
2. Shouldn't the twigs be a bit greener? The twigs you painted here look like they're dead, wich makes it impossible for oranges to grow from it.
3. Maybe some more leaves?
Anyway, I'm impressed by our rendering, and I love the blurred parts in the back. That really causes some great depht in it.

jeroentje is right about what he says.
my 2 cent:
lighting is good, but a few shadows would be great
The leaves are not so good. (I'm sorry, but I can say it only in german): Die Blattrippen sind bei dir zwar sichtbar, folgen aber keinem erkennbaren Muster und es sind viel zu viele. Ausserdem wachsen keine Blätter an den Aststellen, an denen du sie angesetzt hast. Schau dir mal ein paar Gartenbücher an, da werden Wuchsarten von Bäumen und Ästen gut erklärt.
Ansonsten sieht das wirklich gut aus! :thumbsup:

as for the gravity, the pretty brown colour of the twigs and the amount of leaves, well i have drawn this plant in a public garden(dunno how the exact word is) and it looked exactly like this. but i think
i'll nevertheless add more leaves and make the twigs a bit more green. thx for the advice jeroentje! :D
