Greetings to all.
This may be a simple matter to those who work in zbrush & maya, however, for myself, its become a problem that won't go away for me.
What is the problem?
I've sculpted the details into my model in zbrush without any issues. The problem is how to make the displacement map properly adhere to the model once in Maya. All I'm getting is patches of..... mess appearing on my surface. Since I can't post attachments, I'll be as detailed as possible.
Having been a Maya user for many years, I have no trouble with that platform. Being comfortable in zbrush while sculpting is not the issue either. Getting the displacement map to create cleanly is what the problem is. I'm using the Digital Tutors ZBrush/Maya integration DVD. I've followed the guideline as how to create the displacement map and how to save it. I've been trying to get it to work for over a week now, and no success. It just will not apply itself the way it should. Once again, all I see are what is best described as UV patches randomly placed on the geometry surface.
What do I need?
I'm in dire need of a solution on how to fix this problem. I've been on another zbrush forum site, but not much was offered there in terms of a solution. I just need to create a proper displacement map and move it to Maya where I can apply it to the model. That's all.
I should mention that I have the PDF file of the proper zbrush to maya pipeline breakdown. I've read it all, and tried it over and over. There is just one detail evading me, and I'm in great need to find out what it is.
If anybody understands what I'm trying to describe here and is able to assist, I would greatly appreciate any help you are able to provide.
Thank you.
