Are there any 3d apps for the commodore 64?

Wow that brings memories...

I could swear that by the end there might have been a simple 3d app for it.

I do know that there were 3d games (Like Gunship)for it.

I don't think there were any 3d applications really, there were a few different painting applications as far as I can remember...although I only had a hand me down 64 from my dad when I was a kid. Then it got lost in the closet when I got my nintendo. ;)

There were 3d games like Roberto said, 3d tennis comes to mind. Commodore had some of the best games...

I am pretty sure there weren't any 3D apps - besides the few games that used 3D or psuedo-3D - but I do remember messing around with it and writing a VERY crude 3D flight-sim program for it. And when I say crude - I mean it.

While the C=64 was great for it's day, there is no way I can see it having the horsepower to do even super basic 3D functions.... hell, even the Amiga, which was an order of magnitude faster than the C=64, had "primitive" 3D apps compared to what is available now.

Didn't the guy who kept that girl trapped in his basement for 10 years use a C=64?

Did they let you out already? ;-)

I remember when I was using a C64 the Amiga got Cinema 4D (different app than what we know today under that name) wich was a 3D app abit like maya and 3DS. but it was extremely primitive.
Must have been back in early 90s

Elite was a sort-of 3d game for the C=64, it used very simple wireframe 3d models.

Wasnt there a "3d construction kit" or something?? For making simple games - or am I thinking of the Amiga??

Did used to have this though....!

i remember buying a book with a diskette full of CAD-models at the age of 13 - and for C64. the problem was that i was unable to open or view the models, i didn't realize that i'd need the application first... naive teenager dreams, you know
anyway, there were CAD applications for building and viewing 3d models, as well as for plotting them.

:buttrock:THATS IT!:bounce:
Sweet! I couldn't remember what it was called.
Now can it export and import a format that would be compatible with 3ds max?

All I know is that I want Alternate Reality: The Dungeon (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Alternate_Reality_(computer_game)) to come back with updated graphics.

I seem to recall there was a newer version in the works but it disaapeared around 2001. :banghead:

OMG! I had that . It was killer.
Agreed that they need to remake it. That really takes me back thinking about that game.

Yeah, it was an awesome game, especially for the time. 3D dungeon setting (although not 360°, mind you), enemies reacting to your base character actions, custom made weaponry, etc, etc.

I was ecstatic when I heard they were building a new updated game and then crestfallen when I went back to the site about 6 months later and the site was gone... :banghead:
