View Full Version : odd boolean effect.
wully 01-30-2003, 11:45 PM Hi all!
Whenever I try to do a "difference - Boolean" effect on a more Complex Polygon Model My main model disappears. any ideas what could be causing this problem?
I did try to fix it by cleaning non manifold geometry on object but doesnt help.!

How necessary is it to use the boolean? I personally don't like them because, even when the do work, they often create extra mess you eventually have to clean up anyway. I recommend trying to cut your own holes. But that is my opinion.
As to your actual problem. Have you deleted the history before boolean? Is it in a group with other objects parented to it? There is a myriad of possibilities. Also, how far off is the topology (poly count) of what you are doing the boolean on. Compare the two pieces in complexity. If they are very far off from each other, the computer might keep failing on the boolean.
