looking into achieving a similar look to this. i think particle flow is the way to go but i'm not totally sure what do you guys suggest?

Pflow sounds good. You will need to run an additional script though.

What it does is creating a static spline for each particle.

Another way would be to use a spawn( by travel distance) operator which emitts particles on the trajectory of the emitter.

thanks guys i tried these options before but i really think pflow is the way to go for me to achieve this fx. i did some test with the spawn operator and it worked great, shame max crashed when i started doing material tests. now i'm trying to recreate the test i did before the crash and i can't get the spawn to create particles as my object moves. here's the setup i got: position object-age test-spawn
i'm pretty sure thats what i did in the first place but this doesnt work lol. could anyone tell me what i'm doing wrong please?

Spawned particles inherit too much of the speed of the parent particles? Happens often ;)
