View Full Version : moving oil
edaddy 01-30-2003, 10:28 PM awhile back i made a pretty decent mat. that simulated moving oil through animated noise on a plane.. . .unfortunately i can't remember exactly how i did it... i've come up w/ a few more today at work but none look as good as the missing original - i was hoping some of the material specialists out there could lend a hand
thanks:beer:

The best way I've made moving oil is by using the Swirl material with blur's supernoise. What kind of oil are you trying to achieve? I assume you mean the black stuff.
just did a real quick test. it's not particularly mind blowing but it uses the techniques that i would start off with. I assumed u meant crude oil flowing though water in a solid block? or do u mean 1 jet of oil being squirted into water?
anyway i hope this gives u some more ideas.
