I swear I've seen the answer to this problem on the thread somewhere, but I can't figure out why colors seem to be off. For example, if I choose red with the color picker, it looks magenta when I select or paint it. I'm using a Powerbook G4 with a Wacom tablet and I've got millions of colors selected. what could be the problem, besides me being a Noob.

Any help is appreciated. Thanks!

It sounds like you're in the wrong color mode. Goto Image > Mode to check.

Yeah, what colour mode are you actually in? This sounds like a mode issue.
