hi
i'm having a problem figuring how that should be done

the scene is composed of a bridge crossing a lake , and the camera is at low level near the ground ... sun should be shinning and hit the water surface and should penetrate a little in

now my setup is a free hdri for GI , i also use it as an envir. map
and a direct light for the sun

the problem is the water surface doesn't seem like it should be " its a vraymat"

should i model the water ?
i mean i can't get reflections the way they should
i've seen a bunch of tutorials on water , ocean .. lake ... but no setup did what i'm looking for

any tips , sugg are much appreciated

thanks

i can't show it ! , i'm not allowed to !

well here is a small representation of it

here is the setup

and this is the camera view

now the sun rays will hit the bridge , some will stop and others will continue
this means i have to get a sunny area and a shadow area on the water surface
this also means that some depth of the water should should be visible !
maybe there should be some reflections for the undersurface of the bridge too !

i don't know yet if there is gonna be animation ! so , faking things for a still is not the best option for me !

i hope these pics could clarify the idea , for my bad i'm not allowed to show the scene

thanks for your time
