During the lunch time, today i've tried to do some actor/roto stuff... Hard Work (37min manual tracking for 250frames).

The question is: (with a stationary camera) can i track the object with boujou or whatelse and give the information to my mesh !??

Hope you understand my bad bad english...

Hey there. It looks promising...Now you need to paint your head blue to remove it ;-) (the funny part) :applause:

But, i can see some jumping there, the cg head is not following correctly, but very close to it though. How did you do so that the mesh could follow your head movements? Did you use max?

Would really love to know how to make an object follow the head (or any other part of course, like a cg arm or something)...

 Great work

yep.. I use max for the head (digimation head designer). After exporting my mesh in 3ds i've used maya (becouse i'm in love).

After all i've take a decision: i had to do an exactly copy of my head and maybe set the blend shape editor......

I really want to texturixe my face... in motion!

here you'll find a still frame (the only one of course)

i dont understand exactly what you mean with: "give the information to my mesh !??"

position and rotation information ???

i know its possible in 3dequalizer and realviz matchmover to track an object (doesnt matter if the camera is moving or not) not just a camera. there are some tutorials out there to show you how to do that, like attaching a cube to a dogs nose and stuff like that.

if you want to track facial expressions like raising your eyebrow or moving your mouth i dont think boujou or any other cameratracking package will do that, since they rely on fixed position of points for their calculations. though there are other packages around for tracking facial features (forgot the names right now though...)

Icarus is a free tracking software for non-commercial use. i dont know if it can do the stuff that you want to try out, but you might want to give it a spin
