wel i assume you ment passing through ? well if i undertsand that right ..... well but what then should be behind the objekt if not a shadow ??? kinda strange question post a picture or something to descripe your prob ?!

If light doesnt pass through to the other side then that would be shadow, correct?

Just kidding.....Heres a possible solution for ya.

To stop the object from casting select object and turn off cast shadows in attribute editor.

On the the floor or whatevers underneath also goto attribute editor and turn off receive shadows.

Should do the trick.
