Hi;
I want to create plugins for c4d. however i do not know where to begin. is there a tut on how to create a basic plugin that does nothing, just a menu and change some settings?

then setup the sdk and compiler to compile projects?

I have visual studio 6.0 and cinema 4d 9.6 studio bundle software.

My hardest thing for me is to actually start. Once I get going who knows what i will come up with, LOL.

Also, knowing the api's is helpfull. I do much better with a good help system and examples. however I did not find the documentation helpfull to get me started. Maybe someone can help me sink my teeth into this?

Hi, I've split off your post into a new thread as the sticky threads are meant to be for people to post resources, not questions.

In answer to your question, the SDK contains all you need, follow the resources already linke dhere and download the plugin documentation from plugincafe, just open the SDK project that comes with C4D (in the plugins folder) in VC and hit the compile button. The SDK contains numerous examples from the simple to the complex.

yes, the SDK project is everything you need for the beginning.
it comes with every cinema version (even with the demo),
so step through some functions there and you`ll get the point
