Flomotion 09-18-2006, 12:42 PM Hi,
I want my cloth to be translucent so I get a nice sunlight shining through from behind.
How can I reach that effect?
thanks

Hi Flo,
don't know what version you're using but SSS would do that for you.
There are some more plugins that do the same thing like Translucent Pro.. and some others I forgot the names of..
Try a search on SSS or translucency in the forum.

If your cloth has a "weave" pattern, you can use an alpha
along with some transparency and a touch of luminosity.

Use the backlight shader under effects in the luminance chanel

I used the backlight shader.. never knew it was there.
I had tried sss but it seems to only work on objects with a certain thickness.
So thanks for the tip!
