I like the wings a lot, I can't wait to see them filled in, let me guess, with a dragonfly texture right? he he. Yeah keep posting your updates it's coming along good. :D

I think it's freaky cool! In my opinion you should try to make her a bit more realistic, only because that would contrast with the creepiness. Beautiful and wicked, that's the way to go.

well i thought it be only fair to come across and have a look. As the body goes its a good start , but its the wings that interest me. I love the idea of all that detail, i really hope you will add more. You could make the whole of the wing with the membrain some what tranlucant, with a slight glow maybe. Im thinking fairy here. Still keep on going i really do like it. :buttrock:

I will just add for 3 months work you have come along way, heck after 3 months i was still modelling boxes. :buttrock: :buttrock:

sonix

I followed the same tute too, but not to the same standard that you have managed to acheive here.

I must try it again I think, cos this is a wicked spin off. Nice one.:applause:

The detail in the wings is awesome something I enjoy getting deep into. I made a winged spacecraft, the wings being solar sails, but were very similar to your design. I used surface patches to create the wings with about 5 textures, including bump maps, all semitransparent.
I set up a spinning two colour spotlight rig which pointed at the wing, making them glow/sparkle and change colour in animation.

Just a thought, but you probably already know this trick.

Cheers for the comments on my work, watch for the updates.

I should probably learn that surface patching stuff. I have no idea how, but I see the coolest models... heh. Imma be updating soon, i want people to see somuch because im all alone and i have no outide opinion. Im tired too. Im listening to great music as well.

It is looking really good. I look forward to seeing how the model will come together when you add the head and more detail. Isn't nice when all the learning and practice pays off? I have been into art and 3d for along time, but just in the past couple of months it has all come together and started to make some sense. Keep it going! It looks great.

You could download a hair plugin for Max from www.3dcafe.com just follow the 'free-stuff' links and then the 'Max' links to the plugins.

thanks, I'll check that out. I'm guesing you're a max user?

Annuostivix
01-31-2003, 03:37 AM
ok, check out this head. the hair is there for space cover, just playing around of course. I will fix the nose as it says. This is my first human head ever, hehe. It will suit the model soon, dont worry, I'll make sure, and keep in mind that the face is in a relaxed state. Once things get down and dirty, hopefully it will be able to be expressive in a way that it suits the model. It really needs proper hair, which will also help it fit the model. I hope this is doesnt make you people laugh as much as it it did with me, its just so goofy in this cute way. let me know what you think? Should I do a ton of remodeling or does it need uber-restarting all together? it started out better... something went right or wrong, but Ive been looking at this so much that I cant tell. hehe, ok, thanks and buhbyes

sonix
01-31-2003, 04:43 AM
The nose looks like Jacko's, but as you say you're going to fix this.

The whole head looks rather simian, you know monkey-looking, but I think that comes from the JofA blueprints. Her chin looks too promenant but again this may be resolved after the nose is re-worked. Oh it might be due to perspective of image too.

Sweet attempt for your first head though.

Re 3D apps:-
I mainly model in Blender Publisher, 3DSMaxR3, 3DSVizR3, Lightwave 7 and sometimes Milkshape 3d and Z-Modeler. I'm always dreaming of when I can afford to buy Maya Unlimited though.

Keep up the good work. :applause:

Sorry for such low quality, I didn't save for web in photoshop, which I find gets me high quality and low file sizes.

what in the world do i do if everything is smooth, but I have this jutting-massivley-ugly piece of mesh sticking out? Like... non smoothed mesh following the control cage. Is this common or do i really suck?

post a wireframe showing the prob :)

well, first of all you didn't intend to make a realistic head did you? If so, then you may leave everything as it is...But still...i don't quite like the eyelids - human eyelids are much smaller, i mean yours look swollen...The lips...the lower lip is usually bigger than the upper one, and i guess you should work on their shape a lot...
But on the whole she looks nice...as for the body, i don't like breasts, waist area and the legs don't seem straight...Good work though...Yeah, sorry 'bout my english, i'm russian:)

Annuostivix
02-01-2003, 07:25 PM
haha can you see I used plane mapping for the symbol? Traces of it are at the insides of her eyes :D

olga8515
02-01-2003, 10:21 PM
Try unwrap UVW to place the symbol correctly

Annuostivix
02-02-2003, 08:16 AM
hehe sure, first you can teahc me how then. heh. It' sooOOoo confusing, it's kind of like a rubix cube or what not, only with a billion sides and you have to do it with a mouse. i've never read into it or anything though. :) just kinda clicked a little.

can i just say how nice that hair is looking, and for a free plugin and all. Nice face as well. Looking forward to final image sir.

02-03-2003, 11:47 PM
Hey, looking great I love how the hair turned out. You'll have to teach me some stuff ;) Whenever I see you next that is, we can trade knowledge and the like. :surprised

So yeah, keep the updates coming, I am impressed.

I can teach you to make plains and press the scatter button, and you can teach me to texture and rig models =)

Looking forward to it Aerestis.

Will check back tomorrow.

I started a high poly model, you can find it in these forums titled Character Superhero sidekick, I could do with your expert analysis if you don't mind.

02-11-2003, 10:26 PM
this is pretty much the hair I want... Its not incredible but it's not like the model is complete, just the style.

Annuostivix
02-11-2003, 10:28 PM
the body. its pretty done i Guess, just needs textures in my eyes.

Hey, I really like it. I think you mentioned something about working on the hands. I don't know about those yet. I like the hair, it reminds me of anime hair :D What kind of eye's will she have? Cat like? or normalish?

I love the body :buttrock: but the heads goota go man, fix it doesn'tlook evil/demonic like the body suggests about the charcter, it looks liek the creature is rather dumb :) but its all good

Annuostivix
02-12-2003, 05:07 AM
hey... wait till it's textured. A texture could make her VERY ANGRY or very cute or very something. You'll see, she'll be exactly shat shye should be. it'll just take texturing and a lot of time.

olga8515
02-12-2003, 05:24 AM
She's got real big problems with her neck and lips...i don't really like the hair, looks like somebody's torn out half of it, especially in the back of her head...

Annuostivix
02-14-2003, 10:31 PM
how fun. i really need to do something about her face

olga8515
02-15-2003, 01:22 AM
try moving her mouth upwards a bit...normally the space between the nose and the upper lip is smaller than that between the lower lip and the chin

Shallen
02-15-2003, 01:55 AM
Im lovin the clothes....Umm...have you thought about a hood? a loose one. You could have her take it off....I think it would be neat.

Aerestis,

The latest looks wicked, but are you not going to create a membrane of sorts for the wings? Or are they going to remain as skeletal systems?

Sonix.

anakin78z
03-26-2003, 02:08 AM
wicked, I really like that last one (dark eyes and lips are great). Check out your head profile though. I think you may find that the mouth is too far forward.

Cheers,

I like the head much better then the first one

Great job!

Annuostivix
03-28-2003, 12:44 AM
sonix- I think I may as well go and make some mebraney stuff right now. I am sooOO bored. I started making some low poly models for the sake of it, in the game stuffies section, but otherwise I have been so slow lately. I'll move her mouth in too. Only cause that guy said so, and I honesly can not tell the difference. heh

:D

Way to go Aerestis! All of your work is total crap! Why do you even try! I hate everything about you! You're a total idiot! An idiot a half...

You heard me

Your ma is apple sauce!

There was a time I hated myself.
