qqmaximus,

Nice job on your sketches! I've seen this approach before, and it's a very unique way of studying anatomy, but be careful not to assume that the flesh of the hand will follow exactly the curves and shape of the bones underneath. This problem is especially evident in the fingertips of your hands, which are quite 'pointed' looking. Comparing your own hands (or pictures of hands) to the bone drawings you've done here might give you a better idea of the relationship between the bone structure of a hand and its outward appearance. Hope this helps :). Really nice start here- hope to see more!

qqmaximus,

Welcome. :) Nice to see the start of your anatomy studies here. I would encourage you to participate in the recently opened Workshop:

Anatomy Lesson Series: Body Part 2 - The Torso (http://forums.cgsociety.org/showthread.php?t=405198&page=1&pp=15)

And to post your work both to the Workshop thread and here to your Personal Sketchbook Thread should you decide to participate. :) It would also be nice to hear a little bit about your art training and background.

Also I would encourage you to look around at others' sketchbooks and to leave comments, and you will receive them in return. Someone's Sketchbook you should definitely check out is razz:

Anatomy Thread of razz - 2D/3D (http://forums.cgsociety.org/showthread.php?t=352287&highlight=razz)

Cheers, :)

Rebeccak,
I isnt much to tell about me.I dont have a very artistic background :) anyway. My name is Laimonas and i'm 18 years old.Last year i spent preparing for the "entrance exams" (I am no really sure if that's what they are called). It was a well spent year as now I'm studying architecture :)
I also tried 3d (now my main priority is drawing)

It would be nice if someone would share their experience with drawing dummies.
Is it worth buying one?

Thanks

Hiya!

Drawing dummies are a decent tool, darlin, but nothing beats drawing the human form! If you can't get a figure drawing class in, try drawing from photographs or drawing yourself (I do this a lot, still)

I learn better that way, just studying the form with my eyes, and then trying to draw what I see.

But everyone has their own method and technique - use whatever works for you!

Sincerely,
Gracie

i have never tried drawing with charcoal or coal (i dont know how it's called)
this is what i've got
http://img141.imageshack.us/img141/706/bicreser6.th.jpg (http://img141.imageshack.us/my.php?image=bicreser6.jpg) (human arm)

another try

i'm trying to get used to using coal,so dont be very harsh because the anatomy isnt very correct :)
