CGTalk - bodypaint w/ c4d r7

i need some help with bodypaint. now im not sure what body paint is [just found out i had it:p]. but i have this car model and i want to add a simple set of racing stripes...my car is textured with simple basic materials using no images...just colors. i have tried messing around with it....but i cant seem to figure out how to paint in 3d. is this even what bodypaint is for? please help....thanks
