What is the different between bump 2d & bump 3d?

I assume your asking the difference
between a 2d and 3d 'texture'.

a 2d texture is mapped to the surface
3d is projected through it.
You should see a 'cube' projection manipulator
that you can adjust to get the texture how
you like.
make sure to parent it if you animate, or the textures
will swim.
also if the object deforms inside the projection, you could have problems with swimming textures.

you could always get the bump how you like with 3d tex
and 'convert to file texture' and remap that file to the bump
as a 2d tex. ( and avoid swimming problems )
