Hi everyone! :)
Since I really need to improve my figure drawings, I've decided to take this one challenge, drawing torsos.

Maidith,

Welcome! :) It is nice to see your work here. If you would like, please feel free to tell us a little about your art training and background. I look forward to seeing more of your work here.

One thing I would recommend as you're working from the master works is to think of them more as Drawings than as Paintings. Michelangelo had a saying that "Drawing IS Painting" which is a term that seems to hold true for most of the canon of Western Art. If you look at a Rubens painting, for example, you can see that in a lot of cases it's a drawing with only light washes of color. Drawing really is, in a lot of ways, more important to a painting than the paint.

Cheers,

-Rebeccak

Hi Rebecca!
Thanks for looking at my paintings. I will definitely remember your advice about drawing. Drawing is, in my opinion, important, and I do it a lot. Maybe I'll post some master copies that were drawn in pencil later.

Thank you for moderating this Anatomy challenge. I feel that everyone here still can learn a lot from the project.

I seem not to be able to make a sketch every day, probably I won't do all of them (blame school and exams). But those I do I'll post anyway. I'm pretty happy with these two :)

Hi Maidith / Kristina

wonderful studies you have at our expose here.
Even though you are busy with school and all, I hope you'll post up more work soon.
Really looking forward to that! :)
