View Full Version : CGSociety Wiki - EI Entries
Vizfizz 09-16-2006, 07:17 AM Hey everybody...
You may have noticed that the CG Society has started its own Wiki board for users to reference. I've ensured that EI exists in two main categories.
1. Developers
2. 3D Software programs
The Developers section is mainly company information and so forth, where as the 3D software section contains specifics about the programs themselves.
We have an entry for EIAS on Wikipedia.org, but that entry seems a little bit "tired" and only marginally informative to me. Lets discuss what we should enter on the CGSociety wiki pages.

Well fast useable GI, for a start.
Better and faster GI. The ultimate shading system. Superior mesh handling.

Hey Markus,
Start here: http://wiki.cgsociety.org
There are sections for Developers and Software. EI is listed in both.

Yes, plus some of the information is flat incorrect (or was last time I looked).
Lets discuss what we should enter on the CGSociety wiki pages.
Something very focused on/ pointing out EI's strongest markets (BD and AV as you know) with other markets being peripheral... And of course, lots of bragging about the gazillions of third party products that are available :)

Because of various features we're adding to CGSociety (including the Wiki) we now only support DNS safe usernames, which means no spaces :(
If you setup your portfolio, you'll be asked to change your username there, anything that the portfolio supports you can use for the Wiki.
Sorry for the inconvinience.
It's great to see the EIAS crowd keen to contribute, if there's anything we can do let us know :)

Hi all,
please add EI to the 3D comparison chart,
http://wiki.cgsociety.org/index.php/Comparison_of_3d_tools
That looks like a promising idea though a couple of the catagories are somewhat bizzare...

feel free to suggest improved categories either here or in the discussion page at the wiki, things are in the very early stages so the format, categories, etc. are certainly open to change and improvements.

Marvelous :)
I saw the discussion thread for it after I posted and noticed other people had suggested the same things I was thinking of...
Appart from that, swapping the 10k poly catagory for say 5 million polys would be good ;)
