View Full Version : Subdivision in mAX?
I am just curious. i see all these nice models in the chalenges adn stuff, and they use subdivision. What is that in max? jUst using an editable poly and using the cut command, and a few smooth iterations? My wirframes never look like theirs.

Either the built-in NURMS Subdivision in edit poly or the meshsmooth modifier.
OK, i know how to use both of those. But how come the meshes i produce using those tools do not look as nice and uniform as most models look?

Try modelling with quadrangles instead of triangles.

As you practice, you learn more about how the meshsmoothing process affects your mesh... Its mainly just from practice, experience, and a little help from the pros that hang out around here :D

I just use cut, slice, and connect.
