Here's a little work for school.
It's done in 3d max, aftereffects and photoshop

Click here for the animation (http://users.skynet.be/vanhissenhoven/maarten/max.avi)

18 Mb,divx 5.03 (http://www.divx.com/divx/) (if you use a lower version of divx, the movie probably will stutter)

It froze up on me after about 13 seconds. I could still hear the music and sound playing on, but the frames stopped.

A lot of people said that, but I guess that's because you don't have the latest version of divx installed. After they installed v5.03 the movie doesn't stop anymore.

how did you do those highspeed blurry transferrs?

that is interesting...I like the blur effects.

Some work could be done with the lighting. Candles don't usually flicker that much or that slow. For reference I suggest that you light a set of candles in the dark and fiddle with them, watch what they do.

Thx :)

The blur effects are all done in after effects.

I know the candles aren't 100% realistic but this was my first max assignment for school and I had to turn it in on time, so there wasn't a lot of time for testing.

Some specs:
-+ 715000 faces
45 shadowmapped omni lights
+- 70h rendering on a p4 2.5 ghz (1500 frames)
