i also posted this in the hardware forum before i realized it was the wrong spot...in case one needs to be closed ***

fur_preprocess.exe has generated errors ... keep getting this when i try to render out a frame taht uses fur...it skips the furry objects....yet, renders out the rest of the scene....at the same time...i keep getting this error during the same render

Ignoring invalid NURBS surface:nurbsBooleanSurface1_Shape1: (kInvalidParameter): Object is incompatible with this method
Ignoring invalid NURBS surface:nurbsBooleanSurface2_Shape1: (kInvalidParameter): Object is incompatible with this method

any clue as to what is wrong and what i'll need to change in order to fix it? thanks in advance for the help guys !!

from what i understand, The boolean variable in your equasion has to go.
but here are some ideas to help you start figuring this out:

1. fur uses a fur map, similay to a texture map, that drives where the fur is drawn in post....Are the UVs OK? Poor (or no) UV mapping can cause fur issues.
2. delete history of boolian surface.
3. try duplicating the boolian object, and re-applying the fur.

in the future dont use boolian on nurbs if your gonna put fur on, I'v never run into a prob like this cause booleans always seemed to cause issues. So i just avoided them all together.

good luck!

sorry, i guess I need to be more specific...the bouleon and the fur are both 2 different objects...each with an error...

the easiest solution i guess, would be to delete the things giving you "beef" and start over. Little comfort, i know, but short of actually seeing the scene file and picking it apart, theres little one could suggest. If you like, you could email it to me and i could try to figure it out?!!?! nak300@hotmail.com
if its bigger then 1000kb then try ziping it.
sorry i couldnt be more help

yo noktup thanks for takin a look at it .... i just emailed it to you...and then i realized i had 6 boulean duplicates that i didn't see....got them in the outliner and deleted them...but i still can't render the fur.;..

will you just render current frame to test them for me...and let me know if it's just my hardware failing :thumbsdow

thanks again mate
