Hi,

i want to make a cable/wire, which at one end is constrained to a plug socket, and the other end constrained to a moving object.

i tried doing this with a dynamic curve following the tutorial in the maya help files, but the wire was far to springy even at lowest settings and look silly.

I just want to make something that follows the object, and doesnt look too flash/over animated and has a similar attributes to a electirc wire, not springy. i want it to be quite unnoticeable.

any tips on a god way to do this?

If you are using hair->"make curves dynamic", then on the hair system increase iterations( to avoid stretch ), decrease stiffness and increase damp(but not too high). If your scene scale is large you may need to also increase gravity.
