Hello Everyone! This is my very first thread here on cgtalk, so please be gentle!:)
Hopefully, I'll be back on Monday with new drawings for the Anatomy lesson.

Here's some quick life drawings (none of the poses lasted for longer than 1 minute). One of the life drawings has a little cartoon girl, this was a small study that I did that consisted of looking at the model's poses and interpreting them by drawing my own character.
I have also included a drawing that I did at the fascinating Hunterian Museum (http://www.hunterian.gla.ac.uk/) in London (if you ever go to London, do go there, but, it's better to go with an empty stomach), and a portrait that I did of my stepfather based on a picture from 1974.
Hope that you'll enjoy them!

Fazendinha,

Welcome! :) I find your second set of sketches, of the characters and birds, to be particularly charming! It's quite nice to see your life studies, I think it's one of the best ways to learn the figure. Do you mind sharing with us something about your art training and background? It's a nice way to introduce yourself to the community. :)

Also, I don't know if you're aware, but this month long Workshop just started, and I think you would really enjoy participating:

Anatomy Lesson Series: Body Part 2 - The Torso (http://forums.cgsociety.org/showthread.php?t=405198&page=1&pp=15)
http://forums.cgsociety.org/showthread.php?t=405198&page=1&pp=15

If you do decide to participate, you are welcome to post your work both to the Workshop Thread and here to your Personal Sketchbook Thread.

I look forward to seeing more of your work! :)

Cheers,

-Rebeccak

Thank you, Rebecca, I really glad that you liked my drawings! I have already chosen my 50 torsos :), so hopefully I'll start posting my drawings on monday.
About my background...
I have studied Animation in the UK and worked in both traditional and cg studios both there and in Portugal. Currently, I'm working as a character animator in a small studio in Portugal, as this is such a tiny place, I also double up as a storyboard artist, character designer, editor, pre-vis, etc, etc.
Life drawing is (alongside animation) one of my absolute passions. I fell totally head over heels for it when I started my college studies in London, and even had the luck of doing a life drawing for animators class whilst working there... It was absolute heaven!

Fazendinha,

You're welcome, it's great to see your enthusiasm over life drawing! It's definitely a really fun practice - it's good to hear that you've enjoyed it so much, I think that people should always do what makes them happy. :)

I encourage you to look around at others' threads and to comment, and you will receive feedback in return - there is a great variety of enthusiasts here and some really great work. I'm glad you've become part of the community. :)

Cheers,

-Rebeccak
