View Full Version : Material editor crashes max!?
Eudaimic 03-18-2002, 06:05 AM I'm running max 4.2.6, and after having worked with a project for several weeks, max suddenly crashes everytime I press a certain material in the material editor!?
Is there some way to delete it without pressing it? I've tried dropping another material onto its slot, but that didn't help.
This makes me a sad panda :(

Well, we don't want a sad panda :D
over at blurbeta there is a script which will clear any unused materials from medit - that could fix up yer problem, without clicking on the material or even opening the editor
you can also get it from scriptspot - i think it is called clearmedit or something
also while your there - check out 'vulcania' & deepvalley free - two landscape generators & texturers - they are both in the 'most popular scripts' section
:)
How about merging the scene into a new file with only the default materials showing?

Cheers both of you. I ended up using an older version, which was a good enough solution in this case.
I've downloaded that plugin though, it'll come in handy eventually :D
I get the same problem in Max 4, when i add a falloff map for reflection, i think its slightly buggy!
Eek!
