The drawing is overall good, i ahve nothing to critique in there. However, the coloring, in addition of being a tad bit simple and lacking of a focal point, is in some regions gradient shades, but otheres are straight defined shades, which makes it look like a lack of composition (in the color area). The shades on the tree are barely recognizable (more in my dark and high contrasted screen). I would suggest to give a general tint of bluseish to the whole drawing and define more clearly the lightsource as well.

i disagree actually. i rather like the composition. there's the tree limb as a corresponding horizontal to the dead body, then aragon as a very strong vertical, offset by the sword's angle, which draws attention to the bright red. the eye then leaps from the sword's red to the red of the cut on aragorn's shoulder, and then aragorn's face, which shares the same color as the small patch of skin showing with the cut. the eye moves in a spiral. the coloring is simple, but i think that makes it a stronger image. it reminds me of early comic books, prince valiant, stuff like that.

things don't need flashy coloring, or detailed or realistic coloring to be good. actually, the simpler the colors, the more difficult it is to make it work.

bravo solar. hope to see more soon.

Wow, that's a definition! I always work in the draw more than the colors. I use only the color for separate the layers of a draw.

In the 2d/3d wip is a new skecth, here http://www.cgtalk.com/showthread.php?threadid=40774
