View Full Version : Astro Boy film set for 2009
norman365 09-14-2006, 08:39 PM quoted article from Empire Online: "Imagi Animation Studios are hard at work bringing the Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles back to our screens. But as well as the heroes in a half-shell, the company has nabbed the rights to a beloved chunk of anime.
Yes, Astro Boy is getting the big screen treatment. From his beginnings in a 1953 manga series to the 1963 Japanese TV show, the adventures of the human-sized boy robot Atom and his attempts to save the world while learning to fit in with his peers have become a cult favourite.
Imagi’s Hong Kong studio will handle the new CG ‘toon, which is aimed at a 2009 release date."

Fair warning to all, as soon as I clicked on the link I started to get virus warnings. Probabally nothing, but I wanted to mention it just in case.
Hearing about an Astro Boy movie really makes me want to see a Megaman/Megaman X movie. (more so the latter as that series actually had a story. :D ) I have to admit I didn't read the article, I was more concerned with getting the page closed, but did it say whether it was going to be live-action or animated?

Geez, really sorry man my antivirus mentioned nothing suspicious at all (I wouldn't have touched it, let alone put a link to it if I'd known). If this persists, I'll send an e-mail to the site.
I pasted all the text into the opening thread bar a picture, so I'll delete the link just in case. Thanks for the warning. As for the medium, it's CG

No prob, I'm sure it wasn't intentional, and it was probabally just a case of my scanner doing its job too well. I've had the stupid thing go off because of cookies and .obj files.. But better safe then sorry, right?
Back on topic:
I was never really an Astro Boy fan when it was playing oh so early in the morning, but I didn't dislike it, and I'm really looking foward to seeing what kind of visual style they are using.

.OBJ FILES??? Well, it's a good thing you're not a CG artist then, that would be so annoying!! :D What proggie do you use, it sounds great!! I use AVG and I'd wager I have tons of viruses but the blasted thing doesn't pick up on 'em.

Well, at risk of hijacking this thread, I use NOD32. It updates its definitions 2-3 times a day. Pretty impressive is you ask me.
