Well:D use the knife or select wo vertices and hit subdivide :bounce:

If you've UVWmapped the object bear in mind that if you then move a vert after doing a subdivide it'll bork the UVWmaps. Using the knife (Shift+K) will allow you to place the vert where you want without nearly as much UVW borkage.
