I have been using the Joan of arc picture for this model, but I am not using the tutorial. I am trying to figure out how to do it my way.

I think maya? Yeah it does look promising, keep it up. those Joan of arc tutorials are great =) my work on here is of the same variety. Im doin the head right now, but I'm not using the same tutorial, I'm kind of winging it. I'll check for updates in a few hours, hopefully you'll have something by then. hehe your shaders look so soft and nice on this computer, what are you using for lighting and such? it just looks really ambiant and smooth. later then :)

Thank for all the comments. I really appreciate them. Keep them coming. The more feed back and advise the better it will become.
I am modeling in Maya. I have a ambient light for the back light, and a area ligh for the fill light in the front of the head. I got the skin shader from highend3d.
