Alex Lindsay to Speak at Schoolcraft College

Livonia, MI, Sept 19, 2006 — The Southeast Michigan Chapter of ACM SIGGRAPH (SEMAFX) and Schoolcraft College will play host to a well known member of the computer graphics industry, Alex Lindsay. Lindsay, with 20 years experience in computer graphics makes an unprecedented and historic visit to Michigan revealing a glimpse of the future of the way in which digital artisans will be trained, hired and work. Alex and his Pixel Corps are literally changing the way the industry will be operating on local, nationwide and global levels.This event is free of charge to all SEMAFX members and Schoolcraft College students and faculty. A $5 admission applies to all others.

The ACM SIGGRAPH Professional Chapter of Southeast Michigan (SEMAFX) is a non-profit computer graphics community of creative professionals, teachers, students and hobbyists involved in the digital arts and related media fields. SEMAFX's mission is to enhance the local digital arts industry, encourage communication, educate and network the workforce, and increase awareness of the capabilities of Michigan's digital creative resources. Alex Lindsay

Alex Lindsay, chief architect of Pixel Corps (http://www.pixelcorps.com/), has been involved in computer graphics (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Computer_graphics) for nearly 20 years. I'm sure it will be a stirring get-together as Alex is truly a unique presenter. Have a great meeting.

PS. If you're going to be in the area, I recommend going. SemaFX and the Pixel Corps are interesting organizations that are worth being aware of.
