I need to create clip (4 min) where there's a person standing in a black enviroment with cg elements in front and behind him. So the person needs to be keyed and the elements added later. My question is:

Do it shoot the live image with a black screen or a green/blue screen behind him. I think it's hard to remove te green/blue but otherwise i have to key on black and that gives problems to with shadow and clothing. It's shot in HD and might have some motionblur cos the person is dancing. But usually a high shutterspeed and loads of light helps this.

can anyone please tell what's the best way to do this?

tnx

Of course you are going to shoot this on green/blue depending what colors the actor wears.
Simply because of the shadow problem. You can try it yourself. Put a color over black and over green. Use edges to create semi-transperency. Youll get nasty results with black and nice ones with green/blue.

You should take into consideration that background should be lighten evenly so later you can pull a nice matte.

good luck.

What i have done before in this situation is actually shoot someone in front of a black background, cpautre it, do some color correction, output the file as a targa image sequence then import into After Effects and translate the black as premulitplied alpha. It worked since the subject was wearing bright colors. There were a couple of problem areas but they were easily taken care of with a garbage matte. This was very situation specific.

In this situation it seems like a properly lit key will work best. Then use keylight filter with AE.
Make sure to garbage Matte....Or maybe use autotrace to get a super tight garbage matte.
