View Full Version : Dynamics "Overflow"

I have around 1000 objects which form a mirror. Now I'd like to explode it.
I tried to attach a rigid body to all of them. But that's too much for my Maya to handle (it just quits when I trie to play it).
My second approach would be Particle Instances. But How do I get the mirror as a whole (before it explodes)?

Any Ideas?

i would say a thousand objects is about way too much..

i would split up the mirror in about 20-40 different objects which are quite big.
if you explode it i would emit particles from the cracks that use instances of small pieces that you have modelled.. that should do the effect as well i think.
