View Full Version : illustration: snail seeks ...
dobermunk 01-29-2003, 03:08 PM ... yeah, what is it that snails seek?
Here's a snail as part of (yet another) high-pressure deadline job. Tried for a mix between realism and illustration. None of the surfaces are really top-notch, but it's already off to the printers. Feedback welcome anyway!

I think this snail seeks freedom. He, like so many young home owners, feels the crushing weight of owning his own home, always confining his movements.
This snail is all of us...he seeks freedom to do as he pleases, to be all he can be (possibly eScargo) We can only hope and pray that this little guy will realize that only by freeing himself of material possesions, can true freedom be realized.:p
Anwyas nice model and that little snail has lots of character,
but i think that room needs some more stuff..
Lets see an update!

LOL!
Realize your potential or become escargo! :applause:
Great feedback. The background has been furnished in corporate furntiure: blue and blue. The print version has even flatter blue and blue fields. I had to do some chips for the same client. Thought I would give them something extra - made some crumbs. Loked great.
:annoyed:
They made me clean 'em up.

hi everyone, and thanks!
Manuel: there are some more at my site (http://www.stickman.de/content/gallery/G_Design/pics/eam/eam_overview.html) but I think you know them all, new ones coming soon.
btw - dein selbstbildnis sieht klasse aus, lass den photo-mapping weg dann sieht's noch besser aus. Vielleicht ein vektor color map oder so.

Great image. I especially like the way you placed the elements of it.

He seeks the celery *nods knowingly*
It's nice, i like it.
I love the other ones as well, on your site. I take it it's for an electricity company.

I think he seeks a place to plug in his exercise equipment and his TV. Maybe he also seeks a place to put his satellite dish so he can watch all his favourite shows!

Thanks everyone.
I've rendered this with LW and all the images in the series are fairly tight as far as turn-over time goes - but for future gigs I'd like to try getting the toon/realism mixture to come across better on the surfaces.
Carina: *knowing wink* Yeah, it is the celery. The electric companies have develped a diabolic plan of mulching up those frustrating strands and making bio-electricity out of 'em.
The client is a regional electric company in Germany.
