Im looking to make some video tutorials but Im finding it hard to find a decent free program that saves to quicktime. Quite wierd that google doesnt really come up with anything. Only thing Ive found so far is off znet and its not very good.

Anyone know any good free programs?

You can use "snagit" to capture video/audio..ect and save it as .avi, as far as for .mov (quiktime) you will have to search for a Convertor.

eyeronik -
Try a program like FRAPS (http://www.fraps.com). Be careful, though - I've heard it takes a lot of computer power to run, especially at high resolutions.

Its free and available at www.debugmode.com
Unfortunately it doesn't do mov, it does flash swf. But you can pause and insert descriptive text at interesting points in the tut.
