View Full Version : 3ds max8 hair and fur collision

Hi. I wonder if anyone knows about hair collision with 3dsmax8's own hair and fur modifier
the modifier is a great util to get hair styles up til when dealing with dynamic's
it can hardly detect the surface even with simple objects
for example i am attaching the following hair test anime animation

even lowering the green rod most of the hair would still pass through the solid
the settings here i am using are as the following


it'll be great if i can hear your experience with the modifier, much thanks.

Yeah, that looks sucky.

My experience with the modifier is that it...doesn't work.

Maybe there will be neccesary changes implemented into Max 9 so that it actually does what it's suposed to do.

try making your collision object (cylinder) a higher res mesh.
