View Full Version : Are the shots doom ?
Studev 09-13-2006, 06:12 PM I got several shots that have one lady walking with her head turning around 90 degree or something 3/4 view. I need to do morphing and apply some texture on her face.
Now, the problems.
1. The target morph doesn't have an accurate movement or doesn't match the profile of the face in order to morphing. So far, my experience tells me, that this shot is out of question. But i'm thinking. What about if i do a morph on the existing footage, stretch the nose, ear, mouth or whatever without using target morph. Is that possible. I don't really know what tools to use. I only have AE and Fusion that can be access here.
2. How the hell can apply a texture on her face while the angle of the face is changing overtime.
Are the shots doom ? Reshoot ?
Thanks

You could do a 3d proxy model and matchmove...

Sounds exactly like a job a friend of mine has done a while ago. 2 passes of live footage that needed to morph into each other, however they didn't line up at all. Most of it was per frame work with some clever morphing. Since you have Fusion, I can recommend getting the Krokodove tools. They come with a Morph tool which is as easy to use as it is powerful. However, at the moment it is broken in the Fu5 version, so you would have to run DF4 to be able to use it. But however great the tools are, expect to be doing a LOT of work by hand just tweaking and tweaking and more tweaking... :-)
Shots are never doom IMO, simply depends on how much work you are willing to put into them....

I check on Krokodove tools. But we have something similar here. I'm still thinking of the appropriate distortions or wrapping to be done on the shots. IMO, i don't want to spend too much times on this. It's not worth it. If it gets too much tweaking on the testing period, i will let them reshoot it. It's ridiculous, shooting without consulting.
Thanks for the help
