Hello,

Fusion 5 build 30. How often does it crashes ?
It seems that it does it pretty often... last time
it happend when using paint tool. Is there a log
of some sort to trace the origin of the problem ?
Have you experienced this ?

I would give a try to the latest build; Fusion 5.02 Build 82

But even there, there is more crashes then DF4

We're using Fusion 5.02 build 72. It's really very solid here at work.

Build 82 here. Using native tools it hasn't crashed on me in weeks of continuous use. I can still crash it using some beta 3rd party tools. But that's why they are still in beta. :)

As I tried at home pc, I saw often crashes. Very stable at work(I rarely see crashes)...I am suspecting it has to do with the hardware..thats it.

You should probably update to the most recent release. Fusion 5.02 Build 82 is MUCH more stable than Fusion 5.0 build 30.

it crashes sometimes when I go to render something big. 5.1 has the fixes according to eyeon.

I remember I had problems with roto and painting when I had installed beta of Krokodove plugins. Maybe that's what causes your problem.

I bet your machine at home has a lot less RAM

The quality of your RAM, the quality of your power supply, the quality of your motherboard and the extreneous software you have running can all significantly reduce your stability.

If you're crashing when using the paint tool, it very well could also just be the quantity of RAM. Paint tools can quickly hog memory if they're not rasterized.
