These are the rules:
You have 30MN to do your sketch. IF you go beyond the assigned time limit , you have to post WHATEVER you have done after the time has expired, along with the FINAL drawing.
Post only your FINAL piece on this thread, based on the topic on the thread.
Only final pieces can be posted on the thread. They must have been done AFTER the topic has been announced.
RESOLUTION : The image can have any aspect ratio up to 800 x 600
They can be done on any medium.
If you wish, you can add a brief text description about your piece.
Only original compositions. No "tributes" or plagiarizing, unless is it an integral part of the challenge.
You can post an entry at anytime for the topic presented on this thead BEFORE the voting thread for THE WEEK has been posted.
The artist also has to post total length of time it took and program used.
Any piece caught breaking the rules will be taken off the thread.
The topics will be picked at random from the list on the TOPICS thread >>LINK<< (http://forums.cgsociety.org/showthread.php/?t=145003)
(The author will be given credit). So guys keep them coming.
You can add multiple entries, but please dont post WIP (Unless you intend to update them).
Good luck

Urgh 30 minutes is not long when you're getting out of practice :D
Anyway - my take on Red Menace since it won't be long before we see these guys popping up all over the place.
30 Minutes on the dot and no time to fix errors

When English Professor Krimmsonn finally went mad, he took upon a new and nefarious persona: The Red Menace, Pitiless Pulverizer of Perniciously Penned Papers...

28 minutes in Photoshop...
I was aiming for a wraith-like appearance. Evil glowing insides are fun.

Quick and Dirty 7 mins in Photoshop w/tablet...I've been having some technical issues with my laptop. Now fixed however!...sorry for the obvious choice of menace

Overcord > I literally hurt myself giggling when I saw yours. Great job.
Toastmonster> I may not of hurt myself giggling that time but that's probably because I sympathize wayy too well.
BrittanyRichardson> I really like the way your characters pop out with that background. I'm glad you didn't try and force it but spending extended time on it. I love how the gauzy red haze adds to the atmosphere and frames the womans expression.
drewantarctic> Oooo I love the sketchy chaos of it all! At first I had no clue what the menace exactly was and then felt really awkward because I didn't know that anyone else did a crustacean.
Eek! Serves me right for not checking past Roberto's initial post to see if anyone else did anything similar. I'm sorry! But I do love your piece, kinda makes me think of a live action news report.
hey guys thought i would give this a crack. Under 25 minutes. 5 min for sketch in blue, 10 min for coulour and 10 for the black. i guess i would normally spend a lot more time on a sketch so this has been very fun ill try to do another tomoro. thanks guys.

Since yesterday and my too late sketch for "in the sky", I've taken a special liking to draw tiny planes in big heaps of clouds :). Here's the red Baron, as far as I can remember, Snoopy's arch-ennemy in a very old video game I had when I was young. Unfortunately I just couldn't draw Snoopy. I've never read the comic and didn't really feel like loosing time on a web search, so I just covered the bottom part of the picture with whipped cream.

Hey guys,
I know I picked a real tricky subject, but I hope you don't take this the wrong way. The subject is "The Red Menace" and the meaning of it - which i've read - is a red threat.
So this is totally not ment as propaganda!
I hope you can enjoy it as art.
Damn, such nice entries in here.
Brittany - as nice as always!
Mercuralis - real smooth and nice!
