View Full Version : Epson Settlement
rooktooky 09-12-2006, 05:05 PM Just received a letter in the mail about the Epson trial. Now any of you who've been using their products and have been wondering why the ink tends to run dry so quickly may have something to say. I hope I can get some type of monetary compensation as the result of the trauma suffered by having my ink run out before deadline. Here's the link:

You can not imagine how good it is to read this.
I have an Epson Stylus Photo R300 that is blinking a red diode in my eyes right now.
This printer takes in new catridges then mucks up the print - requiring cleaning the heads - which in turn (appears to) consume gobs of ink. Whether or not I use it, the Ink light invariably kicks in after a few months. Thanks very much for this info - Arghh and I have to buy ink to print docs on Friday. :scream:

Yes that for the link, I have several of the listed models and have noticed the same thing.
Cool, I own/owned two qualifying printers but alas I live in the UK. Does anybody know how I'd get Epsom's UK arm to cough up some compensation?
I'll try emailing their customer service and see where I get.

Hmm indeed, I also own/have owned various models on that list (even a renamed model, the 1280 is the 1290 in europe I was told), so I too would like to hear news on how this reflects on european divisions of Epson...
Wish to add I have noticed utter waste behavior in some of the Epson printers as well, claiming empty cartridges if the printer was not used during a vacation etc.
Or just plain clogged heads after a few days of un-use, which required various cleaning-cycles to get it resolved...
Its too bad tho because I still swear by Epson printers (have had various competing products sitting next to the Epsons, and ease of use and quality kept tipping the balance towards Epson).
