(http://uk.news.yahoo.com/12092006/325/lord-fantasy-jackson-hatches-dragon-fable.html)"The filmmaker has optioned "Temeraire," a historical fantasy series by first-time novelist Naomi Novik, as he puts the pieces together for his career post-"King Kong."
The "Temeraire" saga reimagines the world of the Napoleonic Wars with the addition of an air force of dragons."
There should be plenty of CG in this.
Being a long time Napoleonics fan I'm not so sure about the fantasy element. I'd love to see CG used to reproduce proper battles from the time - with all that colour and braid and elan, who needs dragons?

Who need's dragons?
i think his next movie should have some penguins in it.
maybe they could even sing or dance, it would be revolutionary!

you would think that by using the concept of fantasy you could try and push the boat out a little on the originality and imagination...the fact that dragons have entered into the picture again seems a tad bizarre...it's not as though you have many limits on the whole reality bit.

Why beat around the bush, i always wanted a live action remake of Flight of Dragons. Definetly would be rad.

I've read a lot of fantasy books/series in my time but have never heard of Temeraire.
Why didn't he go with something more "popular" like Dragonriders of Pern if he wanted to do a dragon movie? And isn't there a dragon in The Hobbit? Why yes there is! His name is Smaug! So let's get going on making The Hobbit, Mr. Jackson! At least MGM says you are. ;)

At least the man keeps hitting curve balls; the only thing he's pinning himself to is creature.CG heavy blockbusters. I'm a tiny bit apprehensive, and I wish he was making the hobbit but...
...does anyone know where I can buy T-Shirts with the Weta Digital Logo? Their main site doesn't have a shop (unsurprisingly) but I'd really like on for the geek factor. :D

This one sounds awesome! Dragons are always cool, except for dragonheart. Kiss of the dragon, red dragon and enter the dragon where also questionable, however, they featured very few dragons. Alexi

What I dont understand is this quote:
"The filmmaker has optioned "Temeraire," a historical fantasy series by first-time novelist Naomi Novik, as he puts the pieces together for his career post-"King Kong."
Peter Jackson is having a bad career? Having a another blockbuster that doesnt become the 'worlds largest grossing film' like your last uber trilogy means being in a rut? Funny.
