Title: - Monk -
Name: Sven Rabe
Country: Germany
Software: After Effects, Photoshop, XSI, ZBrush

inspired by the movie "luther" i decided to do such a Monk type of character. here you can see a final shot of him.
i used XSI for the modeling and rendering, also some Zbrush for making the fine details of the face and the face texture. compositing was done with after effects and photoshop. i hope you like it. :)

here you can find a highres version of this picture:

Really nice mate, looks good, the head looks really good and so does the lighting.

My only crit would be the texture of his robes, in some parts it looks like wet clay especially where the 2 hands meet but that aside nice work.

Very nice model. look so nice. :)

I only don't know how mutch he is tall :P In the full body pick seems to be a short sexy monk :P is like that or is only my impression?
Anyway nice job. Bravo

@dARCKLOWN
thank you, i'll check it.

@PaLantir
thanks. about the size, i think he's kinda average, not too big but not too small. maybe it's because of the robe which covers the feet. :)
BTW, wonderful drawings.

very nice work DEAN,
I really like the fold especially on the hood area, I can sense the weight on the cloth.

Some feedback on the cloth texture: try to put more slight wear on the cloth( more worn on the edges, color slighty become lighter and desaturated.)

The top of the hood can be lighter as well since it is exposed directly to the sun a lot more.

overall, amazing job :)

Nice going dean, cool to see this finished!

Intervain

turned out really great Sven :thumbsup:

I agree with Pum on the cloth! Make it more worn out and it feels too regular as well - the way the bump almost joins the 2 sleeves into one... looks almost like a projection of a texture on top.

the cross looks kinda plasticky and plain - I'd vary the wood a tad more. Still great and I love the hood!!!:bounce:

@pum
i'm really glad you like it. :)
thanks a lot for your comment and the advice about the robe texture, really good to know.

@RedFish
thank you mate. :)

@Intervain
thanks for taking a look. about the cross, yeah i know what you mean, but i guess thats maybe due to the low resolution. here you can see it at higher resolution where it looks alright to me, but maybe it's just a thing of personal taste. :)

@KC-Joy
thank you.

i hope i'll find the time to work on it some more. it's really strenuous with such a slow workstation i have, i need to get a new one! :D
