Title: Mazaar-e-Quaid.
Name: Waheed Nasir
Country: Pakistan
Software:

hi...:). this was painted for a friend on his request. everything has been done according to the taste and liking of that person. im thankful to him for admiring my work that has a painterly feel, having a very loose treatment.
more that i must write: see it as a painting, rather than a finished digital work. the lighting here is not at all done according to the rules of realism, its done with keeping in mind the importance of the subject (so it doesnt come in the bracket of realistic work), its more like giving importance to a particular area, by playing with the scale, contrast, lighting done as in theatrical scenes, etc. achieving a realistic look was not my objective. Its treated more as a symbol with flat shapes, abstractly done. much more can be written, but lets click on submit...:). lastly, my friend is quite content, perhaps it fits his taste well.
i did consult a reference for Mazar-e-Quaid but played a little with other areas for what i had in my mind....:). painted in artrage, using tablet.
Mazaar-e-Quaid: "Mazaar" means Mausoleum and "Quaid" means Leader/Guide. Quaid is the title given to the founder of Pakistan (my country). his name was Muhammad Ali Jinnah. so this building that u see here and the title means: the Mausoleum of Quaid-e-Azam Muhammad Ali Jinnah.

many thanks for your time for going thru all that...:).

cheers all.

ah, first time in weeks that I browse the 2d galleries adn what do I see? A painting by waheed nasir, unannounced by my personal waheedomat...:D

I like the reflections on the ground, but in general I think that you submitted much stronger work in your previous entries. Maybe you did not dare to go really wild on your brushstrokes this time as it was a commissioned piece?

It is a genuine waheed nasir painting, though, so your customer/client surely got what he paid for.

hey mu...so good to see u here...:). thank u very much for the visit and for admiring this. i like the way u judge it just accordingly, very sensible of u. yes, i was a lil careful with my strokes in this one, but even then went for a painterly finish. and as uve rightly written, i was not so wild with my brush, just because its not like my other very personal work. and yes, its was a gift...:). he likes it very much and that makes me happy.

thanks for your time mu...always nice to see u around.

cheers...:).
