Shouldn't you have given her more clothes in an environment like that? ;)

Apart from that..

I'm not a huge fan of photoshop blur on pictures. Sometimes a subtle use of
it can be in place.. but in this case it's just to much.
And the tagging of the picture is just to big. I don't like it.

well i thank you for your view point. for me i must say i love the soft tone effect. im not to fussy about making it look real as what im trying to achive is a fantasy look not a realistic.
i will make a note about seeing if i can make better pics without this effect or not. thanks for the reply

the image screams poser and vue. Why don't you just get a camera and take photos of something that already exists instead of using 3d elements that pretty much already exist. This image all but rendered itself for you. Also, the tag is kind of in bad taste in my opinion.

acctually i dont find that a very nice thing to say as it did take alot of time and effort for each element of this picture. especially the photoediting i did to make it all fit together.
i appreciate comments and crit but when its not crit just flame i find it a bit dissapointing to see aritists saying that art isnt art because of 1 of the programs they used is user friendly.
i also used C4d which is not such a user friendly program at all now instead of flaming i would just like to say that it would of been better had you told me "what i should of changed or what would of looked better if i done in such a way...etc" reather then just flame

hey, just ignore this guy. as you said, he is not being all that helpful in his crit. the only thing that i agree with this boy, is the use of that tag. it is rather large and intrusive. he probably has a sad lil life in which he probably likes to bash on other growing artists.

everyone knows that a production company will use every trick in the book to make a image or image sequence look good. if the program/technique is cheap, easy to use, royalty fee, yet, it produces the desired effect, you can bet that the production house will use it.

i have some crits though.
try to "stage" or "composition" the elements in a more artistic balance. for example, the fairie is posed "stiff" at a side shot against a background that is "plain at eye level".

the piece is too "busy" in the background, small lil shadow spots all over the composition ruins it for me.
there isnt a strong layout of light and dark to balance out.. or to lock in the main character to the scenery.

your digital art work is too "saturated". you need to desaturate it. the color scheme is o.k., but the fairie's other wing is way to saturated, its hard to tell that it is a wing, we just assume that it is her other wing.

have your fairy posed more graceful and elegently, even though she is searching for her kind. better yet, pose her in a way that shows that she is searching through out this terrain. or better yet, stage the scene so that we feel the majestic, yet rugged terrain and have her searching in vain.

hope this helps.

I'm not making an effort to "bash" or flame anyone. If you persue 3d, which i hope you do, you will see what I'm talking about sooner or later. I could explain it, but I don't think you'll understand until you get to a certain point and discover the incredible limitations of your software of choice. Then maybe you will start to aknowledge why more experienced cg artists have a tendency to not take you seriously. Becuase right now, your image is like a list of novice faux pas

I think it is extremely important to ignore other 'artists' criteria and just do what you want and what you can do that is beautiful to your eye.
It's a precious few i see in 3D are artists, more like hackers...and that includes myself. It's a long road before someone criticise on the basis of 'art'. Along that road you will come across repeatedly individuals like our friends post above... and other psuedo connoiseurs who have a problem with your software or whatever, your spelling. Ignore them, they offer nothing but mediocrity. Be true to yourself.

This picture is beautiful...don't stop developing this idea.
