View Full Version : xfrog problem with randomn function

i've done some eye lashes using xfrog branch objects. i added the rnd (random) function for each parameter (angle, flap, scale) to make the lashes look more - random :). but the thing is that the randomness changes for each render i make. so e.g. when i render an animation of the lashes, they start to flicker - each frame looking slighty different because of the random factor. and here's my question - is it somehow possible to "freeze" the random factor, so that each frame i render will look the same? and i don't want to make them a static polygon object as i want to maybe change the looks later on.

thnx in advance,
mihkel

I think that's a limitation in Xfrog. Only option I can see is to not use random or else make the xfrog object editable.

thnx, adam. at least i got a confirmation on that subject. i did go the make-editable way and also left a copy of the real thing.

What about turning the X-Frog 'Fibers' with 'Current State to Object' into frozen geometry. No change after that and the ever changing random seed values will not cause animation problems any longer.
