here is a test animation i made for a game character i had lying around. the rig has few advanced deformers if any. No animatable facial attrib, outside of the jaw pivot. It has loads of expressions, and Ik controll links for the character set. Each major movement was animated in a separate file, the the clips were saved, imported and compiled in TRAX (maya) I didnt create any MEL controlls 'cause the character set can be use by a monkey with downs sindrome. Hope you like it and please rip it apart if you so desire.

Bout 4.5hrs of anim

critiques welcome!

Nice stuff..

I like the way he swings the axe

I'm not so sure about the bouncing part in the beginning.. I think he looks to agile and light.. and I don't see the point of it.. what is he thinking? why is he doing it? etc.

Cool stuff though.. :)

Thnx for the criteque.

i see what you mean, the bulky shoulder pads would restrickt more movement then the do so far. maybe i could use less freedom in the arms and compensate for it in the body and shoulders. as for the bounce i wanted to show him as "light on his feet", but in retrospect i should try a hop instead of a bounce.

thnx again

Great work! Honestly, the animation looks fine to me. The model looks good too.

If you are going to keep the playful bounces at the start. Here is an idea to make this animation test funny...

The back of the orc looks like a wall. so when he strike his axe on the ground. The tremble will make the wall behind him fall onto him. Just a thought!

Keep up with the good work!

The falling wall looks great! Very believable. How did you do that?
You didn't animated each block, did you? Did you use dynamics or plugins?

Anyway, it looks good so far! Keep it up!

the falling wall were made using maya dynamics
bricks were active rigid bodys,
the floor plane was passive rigid
i added gravity,
then an air feild, which i keyed the magnitude to topple over the bricks
fun huh?
