Procedural Modelling?

I've seen this term used quite a bit and I can't figure out just what it means. I know what procedural texturing is, but what is a procedural model?

Basically the same actually... that is, you are using an algorithm/mathematical formula to create your modell. Using fractals for terrains or L-Systems for plants are two examples.
