They can be done on any medium.
If you wish, you can add a brief text description about your piece.
Only original compositions. No "tributes" or plagiarizing, unless is it an integral part of the challenge.
You can post an entry at anytime for the topic presented on this thead BEFORE the voting thread for THE WEEK has been posted.
The artist also has to post total length of time it took and program used.
Any piece caught breaking the rules will be taken off the thread.

Liam Mahon,

What a nutter :) but he was a Legend and done a lot of good for wildlife conservation.
he is up catching the big ones in the sky now... :D Crikey you got a big one there steve !
I hope he get's as much as a from my entertainment from my picture as I did from his wacky shows. RIP steve.

Many hours maybe 3.
Panted in photoshop cs with a tablet.
took a long time to get the face likeness and the big salty.
added a grain effect at the end to soften the image.
I hope ya like it.

Argh!! I hate painting real people. I know this doesn't look like him ARGH. And I know it is very BAD painting, Steve will haunt me for this, I know it. He say "Relm! You make me look weird! Shame! You are fan you should do better!". But really the only person I can paint to look good is James Dean. Oh well, here it is... 2 hours, PS. Famous photo reference used. I paint this because people view him as only liking crocodiles and big things, but I think he liked the cute and fuzzy as well and had a soft side. I love cats!

Two and a half hours in Photoshop with a tablet. Plus about an extra half hour just spent flipping between Photoshop and Google. I forgot which photos were the main refrence but here is the finished product anyway.

I tried to go for something soft and peaceful. Almost like heaven. I originally wanted to do something where he was smiling seeing as he smiled alot but given the fact that he has died I thought peaceful and somber was a better route.

P.S. Relm, I think the face was done very nicely. I believe that if he were to come back and haunt you it would be to thank you rather then berate you. :)

Yes I am a huge Dean fan. And thanks on the croc picture. I could have spent more time on it to make it better, but I just was lazy and didn't feel like it. It was more of an experiment than anything , a different painting method. :) I still really like my tiger cub, he looks all distorted but SO cute!!! <3

Silken good job on that! I really love the feeling of it and that crocodile in the sky!

It truely touched my heart that fateful day. Honoured be his memory.

Cool stuff so far. Excellent likeness. Here's my ugly tribute.

These are really beautiful. It'd kind of be a neat thing if Terri Irwin could see the tribute that you folks have made.
